Basketball
Scoil Mhuire is well known for its sporting abilities and achievements Our school basketball team has played a leading part in this area. Our school teams range from 1st year to 6th year.
The girls involved have excelled at all levels. Two years ago the cadet team had an out standing year, winning the Muster regional competition. They went to Dublin in the national championships where they represented Scoil Mhuire. They also came out on top in their local league.
This year (2012-2013) has, like many of the others gone exceptionally well. There are two teams for both first and second years. They did very well in their respective league.
The cadet team is very strong this year, narrowly missing out for the Munster finals.
There are two senior teams including fifth and sixth years. The team was very strong this year. They won five matches in a row, losing in the quarter final for the cup.
Many of the achievements are down to the players hard work and determination but also from the wonderful coach Paula.
